I check my email before and after school. Messages that need to reach me prior to the end of school are best given to Christy (at the front desk.) She will make certain the message reaches me.

The 2012-2013 school year is already here!

School begins Monday, August 27th.

I can't wait for school to start. I was trained in Responsive Classroom a couple of years ago and am very excited about Morning Meeting. The four components are greeting, sharing, activity and morning message. These are put into place to create a classroom environment that promotes encouragement, friendship, kindness and all of the CARES values we embrace here at Bendix.

Get ready for RAZZLE DAZZLE reading. Each Monday a new RAZZLE DAZZLE sheet will be sent home with your first grader. It should be returned with your first grader that following Monday. Your goal as a first grade family is to read 12 books each week together. You may start the year out reading some of these to your first grader. As first quarter progresses, keep many "just right" books handy so that your child may take over as the reader.

This is such an exciting year for your child. The world of reading gives them amazing opportunites to be independent. Enjoy this time together!
