Important information for parents from the student handbook...

LEAVING SCHOOL DURING THE SCHOOL DAY

Once they arrive at school, students are expected to remain on school grounds for the entire school day. In the event that a student must leave school during the school day, the following procedures must be followed:

• The middle school office personnel must be notified by note or phone that the student will need to leave school. Included in the communication will be the reason for the student's release and the time to be excused. This includes illness and injury.
• The student will be given a permit to leave the school grounds. NO STUDENT MAY LEAVE SCHOOL WITHOUT FIRST OBTAINING A PASS TO LEAVE THE BUILDING. Parents are to check in at the front visitor's desk and report to the office to pick up their child.
• When returning to school, the student must check back into the middle school office. At this time, the student will receive an admit slip. Please note that students who leave school without a pass will be marked as truant
