Eligibility for membership in the National Honor Society is open to all students in grades 10, 11, and 12, who maintain a minimum grade point average of B+ (3.3) or better. Students may not apply for membership. Those who are eligible are sent a letter asking them to attend an informational meeting. At this time the selection process is explained, and students are given forms to fill out on which they can tell what activities they participate in both in and out of school. They are also asked to complete a short essay stating why they feel they should be a member of the National Honor Society.
New members are inducted at the annual banquet. Membership is both an honor and a responsibility. Any member who fails to maintain and uphold the National Honor Society standards by which they were chosen can be dismissed.
